PERFORMANCE CONTRACTING - SYSTEM COMMISSIONING
System commissioning
It is important to verify that what is designed is constructed. The construction industry is riddled with operating systems that comply with the design intent but simply do not work well. This is due to many factors: the sophistication of new energy-efficient building systems, change orders, poor field decisions, and designers who are inexperienced in the practical application of today’s energy saving technologies. Instead of a passive approach of determining static or actual operating conditions, system commissioning seeks to ready all mechanical and electrical systems for active service. The process includes verification of system operation at various load conditions, proper interaction between mechanical, electrical and control systems, and documenting when system performance does not meet design criteria.
Our staff is highly experienced at commissioning implemented energy conservation measures for proper installation, operation, and efficiency. The result is a fully functional, fine-tuned system that can be re-commissioned throughout the useful life of the facility and systems.
We feel that commissioning is a very important part of the success of a performance contract. Ultimately, this can determine the effectiveness of the implemented solutions to meet your needs and long-term goals. |
