PERFORMANCE CONTRACTING - TRAINING

Training

We understand the value of on-going support and training. Nothing is more bothersome than expecting savings from a new system and not being able to harvest it due to unsatisfactory training or a change in your facilities operation staff. It is our policy to train your operations personnel to a thorough level of competency on all new equipment and systems. An informed operator is better able to navigate the system, and identify and report problems. Thorough training provides an opportunity for quick problem identification and correction. A poorly trained operator might cause problems by running equipment more than is required or by making inappropriate system adjustments. This can result in decreased savings.

Our project managers obtain quotes for factory training videos or additional on-site training when pricing each major system or sophisticated new product. We have learned that this eliminates surprises at the end of a project and allows the budget for projects built by Custom Energy to specifically include a usable and functioning system with proper training. The on-site hands-on training allows your staff to actually operate the equipment that they will work with on a daily basis. We understand the people side of operating facilities and want to do everything we can to assist you in the long-term value of the project we help you to complete.

At construction completion, your facility staff is presented with a complete set of operation and maintenance documentation for all energy conservation measures. This documentation will be compiled into an owner’s manual. This owner’s manual will contain all pertinent information about the project, including a preventative maintenance plan. We also keep a duplicate copy on file in our corporate office. The result is a properly documented project—keeping you well informed and allowing us to provide excellent customer service.

The owner’s manual contains the final as-built designs of the energy conservation measures. They include step-by-step preventive maintenance instructions for each piece of equipment or system that was part of the project. If the project involves multiple buildings, more than one owner’s manual may be provided. Training, system inspection and a client walk-through are finalized after the owner’s manuals are delivered.
